The Qur’an Tafsir (English) programme at Iqra Academy Edinburgh is designed to help our community develop a deeper understanding of the Book of Allah ﷻ beyond recitation. Through clear and accessible explanations in English, this programme explores the meanings, context, and practical lessons of selected verses of the Qur’an, enabling attendees to connect divine guidance to everyday life.

Allah ﷻ says:

“This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, so that they may reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding may be reminded.”
(Qur’an 38:29)

The sessions aim to strengthen faith (īmān), improve character, and encourage reflection (tadabbur) upon the words of Allah. By studying classical tafsir alongside practical application, attendees are guided towards living the Qur’an with understanding and sincerity.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī)
